The CATS Video

I must say that the video is as excellent as the live performance, only that you
wouldn't get a chance to experience the real thing. I do not consider that a
true blemish, but watching the show close up is a fair ompromise for purchasing
the video. Here, the actors are as excellent as they were on stage. Elaine Paige
belts out her songs effortlessly, without having to struggle to get the notes in
the higher register, and Ken Page gives a more refined portrayal of Old
Deuteronomy. I feel that the merciless butchering of "Growltiger's Last Stand"
is a true blemish, along with the casting of Sir John Mills as Gus: The Theatre
Cat. John Mills seems to mumble to himself, 
unlike Stephen Hanan, who projects his voice on the original Broadway cast
recording.

Overall, I consider the video a true ingredient for a complete CATS experience.
