Hi, I'm from New York and I have seen Cats 2 times and I'm going again on June 6, 1999, so that will be 3!! I can't wait!!! Anyway, hmmm my thoughts on cats ... well at the Wintergarden Theatre here in NYC, u walk in and go down this long hall and then there it is!! BAM! like hits u right in the face! all the junk!! it is soooo huge and it is literally everywhere on walls on the mezzanine in front of the stage. The stage is soo cool, our front row seats helped a lil bit with the view though, but I can't get over the junkyard!! I could sit in there all day and just look at all the neat stuff. Anyway, the overture began, wow was the orchestra great!!! The dynamics of the sound and the sound effects was breath-taking, there are christmas lights strung everywhere too, and when the come on blinking, it is soo much fun, then munkustrap appeared and the whole theatre got dark except for the stage, I was still in amazement that i was there, it all goes by so fast! During intermission u are allowed to go up onto the stage and touch all the junk and get autographs from cats, then act II begun, and before u knew it Grizz was singing memory and when the tire came out all this dry ice artificial smoke came pouring and pouring out of the bottom of it as it went up, up, up!!! And she actually DOES go up into the ceiling (Heavyside Layer :o)) Then finale time, OMG i cant believe it went by soo fast. Totally a * * * * * (5 star) musical, it was so great, the dancing, singing, the music - which is live, by the way, was so worth the trip **CATS NOW & FOREVER** Walter walter09@hotmail.com
