I saw Cats for my 18th time on Tuesday 20/3/01.And one of the biggest surprises was that almost all the female roles were being played by the swings/understudies. The second big surprise was Kaye Brown playing Tantomile, she was the Video Tantomile. And she was better live than on the video. Now also there was a bit of gossip that the actor playing the Tugger had been fired. So when I saw the show the Tugger was played by Richard Lloyd King. And boy what an improvement.Great singing and dancing and acting. He was just so much better. It was a terrific show. All the understudies were very good.Barbara King playing Gizabella instead of Demeter was outstanding and what a voice. But the all-time favourite was Emma Kerslake(Harris)playing Victoria. You cannot beat this lady for dancing and stage presence.During the Naming Of The Cats she stood right in front of me on stage and I could not take my eyes of her,What can I say. Seat A2 on the moving platform is my vote for best seat. For the view -four of the boys including Mr Mistoff all standing near your feet during the songs. They also have the props for the railway engine near your feet and head. And right in front of your feet is the pipe were they come out of in the beginning. And it only costs 17 pounds ,25 dollars. - Steve
