The CATS B'way cast album is like an old friend, you have no idea. My folks still have the same copy of the 2-tape set they bought in 1984, and I bought the 2-CD set last year. I always loved (and still do) "Mr. Mistoffelees", and the late great Timothy Scott also tore it up on "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer". Reed Jones, God rest his soul as well, was perfect for "Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat" (I would always drum on my mom's dashboard at the end of this song whenever we played it in the car). Terrence Mann, of course, turned out "The Rum Tum Tugger" as only he could (when I was younger, I always thought the piano and sax from that song sounded like the music from the show "Today's Special"). All in all, I'm glad I decided to buy it on CD. by Matt
