This particular performance of the tour was the 5,000 show. More than any other tour!!! My seats were located in the second row, three seats from the end. This is the best touring cast I have ever seen!!! If you go see CATS live try to get near the front. You will not believe the how they interact with the audience!!! The first act was awesome. In "Jellicle Songs" all of the characters came out in the same spots as they did in the video!!! "The Gumbie Cat" (Alice C. DeChant) was a cutie. She was awesome in her tap number. It was longer on the stage performance, but I enjoyed it. Rum Tum Tugger was played by an understudy (Matt Loehr). He was hilarious. He often did Elvis impressions and ran around screaming "Oh yeah". It was so funny because he was SOOO hyperactive!!! I loved it!!! Demeter (Amy Hamel) and Bombs (Tamlyn Brooke Shusterman) were an awesome pairing!!! They worked well together and seemed sisterly at times!!! Bombs really strutted in this performance!!! Bombs and Dem sang well together and both had very powerful voices. Mungo (David Petro) and Rumpleteazer (Renne Bonadio) were really well together. At times you could tell when they were out of breath, but I would be too!!! Rumpleteazer's voice was really cute and childlike. That is a compliment by the way. The Jellicle Ball was an awesome number to see live!!! I love the dancing in that number. When the second act began, the cast was coming out even before the houselights were turned down. Some would cat fight, others would find a spot and lay there. I really liked the involvement!!! I liked "Growltiger" up until the point when Griddlebone left the number. Gridd (Kris Koop) was a very well trained soprano. Her voice was so strong and filled up the auditorium. Then it got old. The first part was hilarious and seeing that part gave me a new respect for "Gus". Skimbleshanks was an awesome performer (Ryan Shepherd). He jumped around a lot and had a strong voice. Macavity was awesome to see live!!! Macavity (Chadwick T. Adams) you could tell loved his bad boy part. But he fought with Alonzo (Matt Rivera) instead of Munkustrap. I really enjoyed this. It was more active live. I have nothing but good things to say about Misto (Julius Sermonia). He was very light on his feet. He did 12 pirouhetes in a row without a stumble!!! He was a cutie. I loved his facial expressions. When Memory began I was sad that it was near the end!!! Grizabella (Jodie Langel) had a very crisp, clear voice. The look in her eyes as she sang was priceless!!! You could tell that she loved that song and put her whole heart into it!!! At the end the cast came out and bowed and waved. All the cats walked off stage except Bombs and Tugger. Bombs motioned Tugger to come over to her and when he did, she pushed him down and walked over his leg!!!! She walked off stage and he got up looked at the crowd, and yelled "Oh yeah!!!" I have to say that I have gotten spoiled to the video and seeing it live is the best. Each of them have their own perks!!! If you ever get a chance to see it . . . please do. It is an experience you will never forget!!! Jemima http://www0.delphi.com/jemimakitty/
