Skimble's a nice, middle-aged cat who can't help fussing and wanting to be
center stage. As the railway cat he has quite a reputation and he enjoys
having an office of some authority.

He's funny and cheerful and at the same time very concerned for the younger
cats. He keeps the kittens away from Grizabella (though he doesn't pull them
away forcibly like Jellylorum and Jenny).

And he also keeps Teazer from dancing along with the others while Tugger
sings (in the video), until he finally lets her go. At his age, he can't
understand the pranks of the younger cats, trying to keep a bit aloof of
their youthful recklessness.
