Ahh, good old Rum Tum Tugger. Where would CATS be without him? Don't know about what anyone else thinks, but I just assume that RTT and Munkustrap are brothers. While Munku easily tires of Tugger's antics, there seems to be an underlying patience that comes through. While all the other toms think "Pfft, he thinks he's so good"-- this is obviously hostile envy, Munku's attitude comes across as "Yeah, Tugger, so you're a rock star. Get over it, man." There's also a feeling of healthy sibling rivalry between them. I'll bet when the boys were kittens, Munku was admired for his responsible, sensible and hardworking nature, while shy little Tugger didn't feel like he could compete with his overacheiving brother. So to compensate, he became Mr. Sexy Rebel-- a sort of opposite to his brother. And the two personas seem to complement ech other so well. Munku the "hard-headed politictian", and Tugger the "receptive and emotional artist". Misto is clearly his best bud. Both seem to work on the same wavelength, the two of them are artists (like I said before). Patient and friendly, Misto has no qualms about Tugger's inflated ego, and in fact admires him for his gregarious nature. While I don't think Misto is shy, he's definitley more reserved than RTT. Old Deut is probably RTT's dad, a lot of people agree on this concept simply because of the way Tugger holds him in such respect and admiration, something he doesn't feel for the other Jellicles. I don't agree with the idea of Griz being Tugger's mum, though... seeing the connection he has with his father and brother, Tugger would be far more compassionate towards Grizabella if they were related. And look, I'm sorry, but I don't think Tugger is ever going to settle down with any of the queens we know, not even Bombi. I think all of that flirting and teasing is really just fun and games, and the kittens are all far too young for him. He'll probably settle down eventually, but with a queen who loves him for who he is, not someone that is caught up in the heart-fluttering physical attraction of "Tugger-mania". - Rhiannon
