Mistoffelees is a noble cat who has a magic trick or two up his 
sleeve. With mystic powers beneath him, he manages to use them only 
for the good of the Jellicles, and not to satisfy his own personal 
interests and greed. He also manages to show his humility by not 
showing off his powers arrogantly throughout the entire show, and he 
shows his concern for Old Deut by ushering him to his place when he 
arrives on the scene. And of course nobody would ever forget how he 
used his magic tracks to rescue Old Deut from the clutches of the 
evil Macavity.

One last pointer: I don't mean to say that Mistoffelees is a bad cat, and I tend to feel that there is only one minor glitch in my interpretation of him. Yes, I admit he is a good cat, but what I want to say about him is that he is a normal humble feline who does not care about wealth, greed or personal ambition.
