Well, let's get things started here. I have a different idea of Mistoffelees' 
history than anyone else, I believe. Here's my idea of his family tree. Yes, 
I know one of the characters is made up, but, oh well...

Now, I know many of you will disagree with this history, but hear me out. The 
reasons I think Misto is Macavity's son may be obvious to some of you. He's 
magic, and Macavity at least has levatational powers.

Look for Misto when Macavity shows up. Where is he? Here's my answer: He's 
either offstage or where he thinks it's safer. (If you don't believe me, 
watch for that bit in the movie when Macavity shows up again.)

Now, I think he's Grizabella's grandson because.... Well, look at the 
coloring! Beneath that grey fur coat, take a lok at Griz. What do you see? 
Sparkly black with a white chest. I think that's where he gets his coloring. 
^_^

Now, on his personality.... I agree mostly with the shy idea, but even with 
the fact that he's shy, he can't resist the fact to show off every now and 
then. Of course, afterwards, he usually seperates himself from everyone 
else.... I think that's his grandma again. ^_^
