I think Macavity was once a member of the Jellicles, I think he was 
Munkustrap and Rum Tum Tugger's brother maybe, but he couldn't 
reallys tand it or he was humiliated by something and so he left. He 
kind of gained power through intimidation until the Jellicle tribe 
grew to hate and fear him. I think he's probably capable of being 
good, but it's jsut easier for him to be bad, because that way he 
doesn't have to be rejected by anyone, or show any of his true 
emotions. Maybe he's kind of afraid of being exposed. I think he's 
had relationships with a lot of cats, and must have a ton of 
illegitimate children. i think he definitely was involved with both 
Dememter and Bomby at one time, and that's why they sing his song. I 
think the reason he tortures the tribe is he kind of feels left out 
that he isn't feared at every little moment, and wants all the 
attention on him.
