Grizabella seems to be a cat with whom you can sympathise easily. We all know
that she went to explore the outside world around her, but was rejected by the
other cats as the show tells us. I don't honestly think she wanted to betray the
tribe, but I understand her plight because your character, rather than your way
of life, counts. Griz does not mean any harm, and she shows her determination to
be accepted. So I feel as if the way she sings Memory is filled with sincerity,
poignancy and power.
